Ladderman: Pixel-art puzzle platformer

One small hero. One trusty ladder. A whole world of trouble.

Where there’s a will, there’s a ladder.

Ladderman is a hand-crafted pixel-art puzzle platformer about a gentleman thief and the one tool he never leaves behind: a ladder that shoots straight up until it hits something.

A ledge to climb, a switch to press, a monster to knock flat, a waterfall to part. It was supposed to be a simple two-person job at the Wizard’s Tower. It did not go to plan. Now your partner is in trouble, a strange world stands between you and the way back, and all you have is a hat, a scarf and a ladder.

See what’s up there.

Frozen seas, lantern-lit cities, clockwork citadels and a few things that would very much like to eat you.

Put your ladder to work.

One button, one ladder and a world that keeps finding new uses for it. Here’s what you’re climbing into.

  1. A Ladder for Everything

Explore, solve puzzles, and fight your way through a world full of trouble. Put your ladder to work in situations it definitely wasn’t built for.

  2. Keep Climbing

Travel through a strange world where every new place brings different dangers and surprises. There’s always more to discover, more to figure out, and more reasons to keep your ladder close.

  3. Meet the Locals

Cross paths with a whole cast of strange characters and creatures. Some will be happy to see you. Others will make you wish you’d taken a different route.

  4. A World Full of Secrets

Hidden routes, secret places, and treasures tucked into every corner of the world. Bring your curiosity and put your ladder to work. There’s a lot more here than the main path will show you.

  5. Small Hero. Big Trouble.

The further you go, the bigger your problems get. Take on epic quests, face mighty bosses, and prove that even a small hero can do great things.

Friends, foes and fire-breathers.

Some will lend a hand. Some will put the kettle on. One will try very hard to set you on fire.

Wide hat, crimson scarf, one trusty ladder on his back. Quick on his feet, cool under pressure and never, ever creepy.

A world worth the climb.

It’s still in the making: there are whole worlds up there, being built right now. Follow along on X to watch them go up.

The climb starts here.

Sneak into the Wizard’s Tower, find your way through the Autumn Forest and see how far one ladder can take you. Then wishlist Ladderman on Steam: it’s the best way to help a small game climb.
